Mayreau

Charming and awe-inspiring are words that come to mind when one thinks of the island of Mayreau. The smallest of all the Grenadine Islands, Mayreau Island is home to only 300 people.  These folks are mostly Mayreau fishermen and their families and some of the great people who work in tourism. You don’t need to be religious to hike the steep hill to the lovely and quaint Mayreau Catholic Church. Here you can see the villages and then peruse the church which is open to the public. You are welcome to go inside and take in the breathtaking views of the stained-glass and the artwork that stone architecture that gives the Church its lovely charming character. You can also take a peek in the windows and take in the breathtaking views of the island as well as the neighboring island of Tobago.

Home to the Mayreau Gardens, visitors that enjoy snorkeling will find this an enchanting stop on a great island adventure. The reef sits between Mayreau and another neighboring islands and flourishes with marine life.
