Tobago

Tobago is a gorgeous island that is part of Trinidad and Tobago.  Hidden treasures are abundant in Tobago like the Nylon Pool which is a natural, shallow crystal clear lagoon with a white soft sandy bottom in the middle of the sea due to a super huge sandbar. Swim in paradise in the shallow pristine waters while glimpsing at the deep ocean to the back and the palm trees on the idyllic beaches to the front.
Talk about tranquil!  Local Tobago residents tout that wading in these waters can rejuvenate your heart and spirit. You can get there by glass-bottomed boat from Store Bay and Pigeon Point. Why is it called Nylon Beach?  The area was named by Princess Margaret in 1962, who said it was like the transparent nature of nylon stockings.

If you are a snorkeler, you’ll love Tobago as its picturesque beach Englishman’s Bay is surrounded by tropical jungles and its waters feature colorful fish, moray eels, octopus between the corals and stingrays at the sea bottom.

Tobago – Meet the Exotic Birds At Argyle Waterfall and the Sea Turtle at Arnos Vale

If you want to see the creme de la creme of Tobago’s snorkeling beaches visit Arnos Vale.  The waters are abundant with corals and are growing close to the shore. You’ll love seeing tropical fish, eels, squids, barracudas and most importantly – the gorgeously cute sea turtle.

Also consider Bucco Reef where you can see big staghorn coral colonies with seagrass, red mangrove, brain corals, and elkhorn corals. Sea turtles (Leatherback, Loggerhead, Hawksbill) love to swim around around Bucco Reef.

Argyle Waterfall – Beauty and Majesty

Tobago’s highest waterfall at 175 feet is a fantastic display of nature and watching the cascading waters is amazing. Located on the northeast side of Tobago, the falls are just outside Roxborough, on the Scarborough road. It takes about 20 minutes to walk to the waterfall along a nice nature trail. Along the way, you’ll see fanciful butterflies adorn the foliage and of course the bird watching is great.
